Since July 1, 2022, basic health insurance covers psychological psychotherapy when prescribed by a doctor.
There are two ways to access therapy with me: either through your health insurance with a doctor’s referral, or as a self-paying client. As a self-paying client, no referral is needed, giving you full flexibility and access to the entire range of psychotherapeutic services.
No matter which option you choose, you are warmly welcome.
Through health insurance (referral model)
You’ll need a medical referral from your GP, a psychiatrist, or another authorised physician. With this referral, your health insurer covers the cost of therapy under your basic insurance plan (minus your deductible and co-payment).
- Book an initial consultation with me.
- Get a medical referral from your doctor — before or shortly after our first session. I’m happy to explain exactly how this works.
- The first referral covers up to 15 sessions. If therapy continues, a second referral for another 15 sessions can follow.
- After about 30 sessions in total, a specialist review takes place to decide whether the insurance-covered therapy continues.
Self-pay
CHF 200 per session (60 minutes)
No referral needed — full flexibility in scheduling and choice of focus.
Sessions
Each session lasts 60 minutes and can take place either in person at my practice in Zurich or online. I offer therapy in German, English, and Romanian.
